Wallace Honors Fall 2012 Nursing Students in Pinning Ceremony

1/3/2013

Dothan, Ala.—Wallace Community College conferred credentials upon graduates of the associate degree and practical nursing programs on Friday, December 14, in Cherry Hall on the Wallace Campus. The graduates will help fill employment gaps in the local health-care workforce.

Wallace continues to enroll large numbers of prospective allied health and nursing students each semester. More than 42% of the College’s total student enrollment is registered in health sciences or pre-health sciences courses. The nursing programs are approved by the Alabama Board of Nursing and are fully accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC). The next NLNAC review will be in 2015 for ADN and 2016 for PN.

The College recently announced that the first time pass rates in both programs exceeded national and state board scores for the 2011-2012 school year.

Since the first graduating class in 1953, the practical nursing program has produced 3,601 graduates. The associate degree program has graduated 3,572 nurses since the initial 1971 class.
