Program Mission Statement
Faculty who teach Art help students apply and learn creativity as they work on concept development, technical mastery, critical analysis, and originality.
Wallace Community College provides instruction leading to the Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree for students planning to transfer to baccalaureate programs or professional art schools after study at Wallace Community College.
Art course offerings prepare students for either a B.F.A. (Bachelor of Fine Arts) or a B.A. (Bachelor of Arts) program.
Studio art course offerings have been designed to be consistent with the foundation program of art schools and art programs at four-year colleges.
Because transferability is most important, students will develop skills accordingly and also prepare a comprehensive transfer portfolio.
This foundation program will allow students to continue their studies leading to careers in the fine arts, a range of design fields (such as graphic and media arts, industrial and product design, fashion/textile design), crafts, art education and art therapy.
