Welcome to the George C. Wallace Community College baseball website. The Govs baseball program has a rich baseball tradition which holds six state championships. Many former Govs have played or are playing in D-1 or professional ranks. In 1998, I was named Head Baseball Coach after spending nine seasons in the pros playing with the Mets, Giants, Mariners, and Pirates. I was a member of the Governor's State Championship team in 1982-83, so coaching here is a very special opportunity for me. WCC is a member of the Southern Conference, universally regarded as one of the top baseball conferences in junior colleges. We have won three conference championships out of the past six years. Each year six teams advance to the state playoffs from our Conference. In May 2007-2009, the state playoffs will be held in Dothan, Alabama, at Westgate Park.

Thank you for visiting the Govs Baseball website!

Sincerely,
Mackey Sasser
Head Baseball Coach
