Welcome to the George C. Wallace Community College baseball Web site. The Govs baseball program has a rich baseball tradition which holds six state championships. Many former Govs have played or are playing in D-1 or professional ranks. In 1998, I was named Head Baseball Coach after spending nine seasons in the pros playing with the Mets, Giants, Mariners, and Pirates. I was a member of the Governor's State Championship team in 1982-83, so coaching here is a very special opportunity for me. WCC is a member of the Southern Conference, universally regarded as one of the top baseball conferences in junior colleges. We have won three conference championships out of the past six years. Each year five teams from the North and five teams from the South advance to the state playoffs from each Conference. From May 2010 to May 2012 the Wallace Govs will be hosting the State Tournament at Eagle Stadium in Ozark, Alabama. We have now hosted the State Tournament the last eight out of ten years.
Thank you for visiting the Govs Baseball Web site!
Sincerely,
Mackey Sasser
