| MARIANNA--The Wallace Govs went on a home run tear Friday night. Playing in the Fibercare Classic round robin tournament at Chipola, The Govs easily defeated Darton College 12-4. |
Justin Hay pitched five innings to get the win, while Adam Oliver picked up the save. But the story of the game was the home runs. Wallace hit five of them.
T.J. Rivera had a home run and a double. Daniel Torrente had two home runs and a double. Brett Chamberlain had a home run and two singles. Anthony Kopacz had a home run and two singles.
Others who had a good game were Rafael Carlot with a double and a single, and Chris Sasser with two singles.
Wallace improves to 4-2 on the season. The Govs will continue in tournament Saturday night when things get a lot tougher. Wallace will take on perennial powerhouse Middle Georgia at 7 p.m. |
