| PHENIX CITY--The Wallace Govs improved their conference record to 3-1 Friday afternoon with a dramatic win over the Chattahoochee Valley Pirates. In the top of the ninth inning, Esterlin Perozo connected for a two-run homer to give the Govs a 5-4 victory. | |
| The Govs got 13 hits in the game. Brett Chamberlain led the way, going four-for-five with four singles. Anthony Kopacz was two-for-four with an RBI. Harman Watkins was two-for-four with a double. T.J. Rivera was one-for-five with two RBIs. Andrew Hockenbury pitched seven strong innings for the Govs, but Joseph Braswell got the win in relief. Chamberlain picked up the save. The Govs are now 8-4 overall and will face the Pirates again Saturday afternoon in a double header. | |
