Starting pitchers performed well in both games. In the first game, Dothan's Joseph Braswell pitched six strong innings, gave up three hits and only one unearned run. The win went to Daniel Vargasvila who pitched the final three innings.
At the plate, Harman Watkins was 2-for-5 with a double and a triple, while Brett Chamberlain was 1-for-4.
Justin Hay picked up the win in game two. He pitched six innings, gave up two hits and one only earned run.
Offensively, Chamberlain went 3-for-5 with a home run and four RBIs. Ryan Reece was 2-for-3 with two runs, a double, triple and two RBIs. Jonathan Eaves was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. T.J. Rivera was 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs. Daniel Torrente was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
The Govs improved to 15-3 in the Southern Division, 17-9 overall. The Govs return home next Friday and Saturday to take on Enterprise-Ozark in another conference series. |
