| ALEX CITY--For the first time this season, the Wallace Govs have dropped a conference series. That happened when the Govs split their conference double-header with Central Alabama Community College Saturday afternoon. | |
| The Govs won the first game 11-5, but then dropped the nightcap 14-10. That meant Central took two of three games from Wallace. Hunter Green picked up the win for the Govs in the first game. At the plate, Harman Watkins went 5-for-6 with a triple and an RBI. Daniel Torrente was 3-for-4 with a home run, double, and an RBI. Brett Chamberlain was 1-for-4 with a home run and an RBI. Jonathan Eaves was 3-for-4 with three doubles. Rafael Carlot was 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI. Anthony Kopacz was 2-for-5 with an RBI. Justin Hay took the loss for the Govs in game two. Wallace was led at the plate by Watkins who was 3-for-4 with an RBI, Eaves who went 3-for-3 with two RBIs, and Ryan Reece who was 2-for-4 with a double. The Govs are now 19-5 in the Southern Division, 28-12 overall. Wallace will play Andrew at Andrew College Monday afternoon. | |
