Brett Chamberlain, normally the Govs starting catcher, got the start on the mound and the win. In addition to his pitching, Chamberlain was also 1-for-2 at the plate.
The real hitting star of the day was Wallace lead-off batter Harman Watkins. He went 6-for-6 in the game with a triple, an RBI, and scored five runs. T.J. Rivera was 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs, and three runs. Daniel Torrente went 2-for-4 and five RBIs.
The Govs are now 29-12 on the year. Wallace will play Northwest Shoals Tuesday afternoon at Troy University. |
