What Type of Instruction Will I Receive?

Once you have completed orientation, we will assign you to a class time that will best accommodate your schedule. Instruction within our classes is tailored to your specific learning needs and is very different from traditional instruction received in high school. When you arrive at your first class, you will be given an assessment of your basic academic skills to determine your strengths and weaknesses in math, reading, and language – this test is the TABE (Tests of Adult Basic Education). This assessment will provide us with information to develop an individualized Plan of Instruction (POI) specifically for you. You will use your POI in the classroom with your teacher to prepare for the GED test. Your instruction will be self-paced and based specifically on what you need to learn.

The Adult Education instructors you will be working with are experienced and professional educators and are committed to helping you achieve your goals.
