GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR ARRT CERTIFICATION

  • Individuals must satisfy general qualifications for certification in accordance with The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) guidelines.  The ARRT is the board that administers the national certification examination upon completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program. A candidate for certification by the ARRT must meet the ethics, education and examination requirements as described in The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Rules and Regulations and ARRT Standards of Ethics.

  • In order to take this examination, individuals must be of good moral character.  Generally, the conviction of a felony or any other offense or misdemeanor, or a felony involving moral depravity, indicates a lack of good moral character for ARRT purposes.

  • Please see the Radiologic Technology Program Director for advisement if the previous statement applies.

 Upon admission to the Program, all students must complete a health form including immunization records.

Admission to the Radiologic Technology Program shall be provisional depending upon the student’s ability to pass an initial drug screen.  Students may be subjected to random drug testing during the length of the Program.

RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM
SELECTION CRITERIA

I.          50% from GPA in Math, Science, English (college level unless only high school available)

A= 95 Math A – 95 eg., 95 + 85 + 95 = 275/3 = 91.6
91.6 x .5 = 45.5
B =85 English B – 85
C =75 Science A - 95

 II.        50% from Compass scores in Math, Writing, and Reading

        Math    Actual score on COMPASS if tested into MTH 100 or
successful completion of or currently taking MTH 098 use lowest score required to place into MTH 100
  Writing   Actual score on COMPASS if tested into ENG 101 or
successful completion of or currently taking ENG 093 or ENG 092 use lowest score required to place into ENG 101
  Reading   A minimum score of 76 required
Actual score on COMPASS if no RDG course required or successful completion of or currently taking RDG 085 use lowest score required to place into RDG 114

            Math + Writing + Reading / total maximum points possible
            Take this score and multiply by .50

III.    GPA points + COMPASS points = Total Applicant Score

* One point will be added to the above score for each required general education course in which a “C” or better is obtained

IV.       Applicants are then ranked

NOTEIf a tie should exist between applicants, the GPA will determine ranking
