Admission Guide for RN to BSN Mobility
Students pursuing core academic requirements in the RN to BSN curriculum are registered as students of Wallace Community College. This allows one to take advantage of the lower tuition rate offered by the two-year college system. Students may enroll to take their academic courses at WCC during any term -- no program admission is required. The three-semester full-time sequence of nursing courses offered by The University of Alabama begins in Fall Semester of each year. Students nearing completion of their required academic courses must make application to The University and to the Capstone College of Nursing by June 15 of their intended entry year.
Basic steps for past graduates or new WCC students:
- Apply for readmission to WCC -- use the Wallace web site, http://www.wallace.edu/enrollment/records/forms/admissionsapplication.pdf, to print off an admissions form and then mail, fax, or hand deliver to the Wallace Campus in Dothan, the Sparks Campus in Eufaula, or the Fort Rucker Center. You may also complete an application onsite, if preferred. For your program of study and degree option, write BS1 on the "major" line and choose Associate in Science as the "degree option."
- If you are new to WCC or have attended other institutions following you last enrollment here, use http://www.wallace.edu/enrollment/records/forms/transcript_release_auth.htm, to obtain the form to send to each of your previous institutions for official transcript copies to complete your WCC admissions application.
- Once the admission/readmission process has been completed, please notify Kathy Buntin, Coordinator of Health Sciences. Ms. Buntin will be your academic advisor and contact you to assist in initial registration activities.
Basic steps for current WCC students:
- If you are a "pre-nursing (PNU)" student at WCC who desires to complete additional academic courses concurrently with meeting ADN academic requirements, please visit the admissions office at the Wallace Campus in Dothan, the Sparks Campus in Eufaula, or the Fort Rucker Center and complete a "CHANGE OF MAJOR/CATALOG" form. The degree
plan of choice for providing guidance in requirements of the RN to BSN program is "pre-nursing ADN with UA BSN goal" or "PNB." Use the note guidance provided in your degree plan as you work with your nursing advisor to prepare for nursing program application. In addition, contact Kathy Buntin, Coordinator of Health Sciences, for specific questions about the RN to BSN program.
- If you are a student who is already enrolled in the ADN program at WCC and have taken or desire to take additional academic courses concurrently with ADN requirements, please visit the admissions office at the Wallace Campus in Dothan, the Sparks Campus in Eufaula, or the Fort Rucker Center and complete a "CHANGE OF MAJOR/CATALOG" form. The degree plan of choice for providing guidance in requirements of the RN to BSN program is "Associate Degree Nursing w/BSN Goal" or "NUB." Use the note guidance provided in your degree plan as you work with your nursing advisor. In addition, contact Kathy Buntin, Coordinator of Health Sciences, for specific questions about the RN to BSN program and to begin contact with The UA Capstone College of Nursing.
