The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects "faster than average" growth in each of our allied health preparation areas through 2012 and the need for approximately 1,203,000 registered nurses between 2004 and 2014. The top 30 fastest growing jobs in the U.S. predicted through 2010 are in allied health occupations. The projected employment growth will be driven by increasing demand for healthcare because of an aging population and longer life expectancies. Wallace Community College is ready for the challenge this health care shortage brings. The Health Sciences Resource Center is a product of a 2005-2008 Department of Labor Community-Based Job Training Grant (CBJTG) award for our health science programs.
