Current Scholarship Opportunities

Listed below are internal scholarships available through Wallace Community College (WCC) and external (outside) scholarships available through sources outside WCC.  The external scholarships listed are provided for your information only.  Questions regarding external scholarships should be directed to that particular outside agency.

American Society of Civil Engineers (ACSE)-Dothan Branch-Caleb Kearley Memorial 2018 Scholarship (External)


Qualifying students must reside in the geographic area of the ASCE Dothan Branch. This includes Barbour, Coffee, Dale, Geneva, Henry, Houston and Pike Counties. Scholarship amount(s) will range from $1000 to $2500 depending on funds available. Application deadline is May 15, 2018.

2018 The Greg Faison Memorial Scholarship for Children of First Responders (External)


First Responders are essential features of any disaster management effort. At First Exchange Bank, we support the hard work put forth, sacrifices made, and acts of selflessness displayed by first responders on a daily basis. We are proud to offer a $1,500 scholarship for college-bound or current college students who are children of first responders. To be eligible, a participant must be graduating high school in 2018 or currently enrolled in an accredited technical school, college, or university in the United States, be a U.S. citizen, have a parent with a proper first responder classification (Police, EMT, paramedic, firefighter, and other emergency personnel), and submit a 500+ word essay. Deadline for submission is May 1, 2018.

Fall 2018 Horatio Alger National Career & Technical Scholarship Program (External)


Horatio Alger National Career & Technical Scholarships for $2,500 are available for students interested in pursuing a career or technical certificate/degree. The application is now available for students who will be enrolled in a post-secondary program in Fall 2018. The application deadline is June 15, 2018.

American Welding Society Foundation Scholarships (External)


Since 1991, the AWS Foundation has helped students from around the world to realize their dreams and make them a reality. AWS Foundation scholarships help students with their financial obligations; they help to cover a variety of school expenses such as tuition and fees, books and other supplies.

2018-2019 Troy University Scholarships (External)


The Financial Aid Office has received information for the Troy University Scholarship application process for 2018-2019. The deadline for all Troy University Dothan Campus scholarships is May 1, 2018.

2018 Brookwood Medical Auxiliary, Inc. Scholarship (External)


The members of the Brookwood Medical Auxiliary, Inc. are pleased to inform you that they will be awarding several scholarships in medically related fields for the school year 2018-2019. The deadline for receipt of the applications and all accompany documents is May 24, 2018. Applicants will be informed of scholarship decisions in July.



ESCC acts as a clearinghouse for scholarship information and applications to the E.L. Gibson Foundation. The main purpose of this foundation is to promote better health of the residents in specific Wiregrass areas. One of the major ways of accomplishing this goal is to provide scholarships to assist persons seeking a degree in the health care field, especially nursing (LPN and RN), radiology technicians, laboratory technicians, respiratory therapy technicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and medical doctors. The E.L. Gibson Foundation Board of Directors meets four times per year to award scholarships. Applications must be submitted by the following deadlines to be considered for the next award cycle. Deadlines: February 28, May 31, August 31, and November 30. Applicants must be permanent residents of Coffee County or the immediate surrounding areas of Geneva, Dale, or Covington County as far west as Opp. New applicants should download the application, complete it, and send it along with all other requested items to the address on the application. NOTE: This application form is used only for this scholarship.
