Listed below are internal scholarships available through Wallace Community College (WCC) and external (outside) scholarships available through sources outside WCC.  The external scholarships listed are provided for your information only.  Questions regarding external scholarships should be directed to that particular outside agency.

2017 Ignition Scholarship (External)

Ignition is a non-profit, privately funded business incubator and accelerator. They have put together a scholarship for student entrepreneurs at universities across the country. Applications are due December 15, 2017, and the winners will be announced on January 1, 2018.

2017 Karin Riley Porter Good Works Scholarship (External)

Clean This Carpet Scholarship (External)

Clean This Carpet is a company specialized in reviewing carpet cleaning products such as vacuums. The deadline for submission is February 20, 2018. We will announce the winner two weeks later.

Daughters of the American Revolution Scholarship Opportunities (External)

The NSDAR awards multiple scholarships to students showing dedication to the pursuit of degrees in diverse disciplines including history, law, nursing, and education. Scholarship applications must be emailed by February 15, at 12 midnight (EST).

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation's 2018 Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship (External)

The Jack Kent Cook Foundation will award approximately 45 Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship to outstanding community college students transferring to selective four-year colleges or universities in fall 2017. Each scholarship, worth up to $40,000 per year, will cover a significant share of the student’s educational expenses including tuition, living expenses, books, and other required fees for the final two to three years of a bachelor’s degree. To be eligible to compete in the scholarship program, a candidate must, at a minimum, meet all of the following requirements: • Be a sophomore as of December 31, 2017, currently registered at Wallace Community College OR a recent graduate (since spring 2013) • Plan to enroll full-time in a bachelor’s program at an accredited college or university in the fall 2018 • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent) • Demonstrate significant unmet financial need • Have not previously enrolled at or attended a four-year institution The application for the Jack Kent Cook Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship is now available. THE E.L. GIBSON FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS (External)

ESCC acts as a clearinghouse for scholarship information and applications to the E.L. Gibson Foundation. The main purpose of this foundation is to promote better health of the residents in specific Wiregrass areas. One of the major ways of accomplishing this goal is to provide scholarships to assist persons seeking a degree in the health care field, especially nursing (LPN and RN), radiology technicians, laboratory technicians, respiratory therapy technicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and medical doctors. The E.L. Gibson Foundation Board of Directors meets four times per year to award scholarships. Applications must be submitted by the following deadlines to be considered for the next award cycle. Deadlines: February 28, May 31, August 31, and November 30. Applicants must be permanent residents of Coffee County or the immediate surrounding areas of Geneva, Dale, or Covington County as far west as Opp. New applicants should download the application, complete it, and send it along with all other requested items to the address on the application. NOTE: This application form is used only for this scholarship.

Glen Lerner Gives Back Community Service Scholarship | Award: $1,000 (External)

This scholarship will be awarded to the student whose personal essay best describes their commitment to community service and how their experience has played and will play a role in their academic career. Strong candidates for this award will be able to fully demonstrate their dedication to serving their community, as well as showcase personal examples of community service undertaken even in the face of personal, financial, or legal hardship. 2017 InformedMag Security Scholarship (External)

InformedMag is offering a $1,000 Scholarship to students based on their ability to communicate their experience with a product effectively. The “InformedMag Security Scholarship” is run on an annual basis, and it is awarded on January 15th each year. The application deadline is December 31, 2017.
