Contact Adult Ed Department

adult student's pictureThe Wallace Community College Adult Education Department is dedicated to preparing adults for a better future. Classes are free, and instruction is self-paced and individualized. Classes are available to adults age 16 and older who are no longer enrolled in school.

Learning opportunities include:

  • GED preparation classes
  • Basic skills classes for reading and math
  • Literacy instruction for adults learning to read
  • English as a Second Language classes
  • English Literacy and Civics classes
  • Families Learning Together classes (includes free child care and parent/child activities)

Classes are available at several locations in Dothan, Eufaula, and in Barbour, Henry, and Houston Counties. Class schedules include morning, afternoon, and evening sessions. Adult Education classes are available throughout the calendar year. Those adults who pass the GED are invited to participate in traditional GED Graduation ceremonies.

Volunteers Needed:

Community volunteers are invited to assist with reading instruction for adults. Free training, books, and coordination of services are provided. Anyone interested in becoming a literacy volunteer should call 556-2373, or 1-800-543-2426, x. 2373.
