Programs of Study

Academic Affairs

The academic area provides instruction for transfer (university-parallel) studies leading to the Associate of Arts and Associate in Science degrees as well as general educational core classes for the Associate in Applied Science degree and certificate programs at Wallace Community College.  The college offers classes primarily at the Wallace Campus in Dothan and the Sparks Campus in Eufaula in a variety of scheduling formats that may include day, evening, and weekend classes as well as online and hybrid classes that require limited on-campus attendance.

Degree Programs

Academic Affairs is home to WCC’s transfer programs, the Associate in Arts (A.A.) and the Associate in Science (A.S.) degrees. Both degrees are designed to follow a course of study that corresponds to freshman and sophomore offerings at most colleges and universities in Alabama and throughout the nation and are designed for students planning to transfer into baccalaureate (four-year) degree programs.

General Education

Core courses in English composition, speech communication, mathematics, the sciences, the arts, the humanities, and the social and behavioral sciences provide experiences  for students to learn the knowledge and skills you need to be effective as a person, an employee, a consumer, and a citizen.  Both the college’s accrediting organization and the State Board for Community Colleges require that all curricula include general education components. Wallace Community College (WCC) has defined the general education competencies that all its graduates should have attained.
