Political Science Learning Outcomes


American National Government (POL 211) is designed to facilitate students’ achievement of the outcomes listed below.
  1. To understand in greater detail the founding of the United States with regard to     the basic documents that form the government.
  2. To appreciate the intricacies of the political process and participate in the political process in a more informed manner.
  3. To better understand the necessity of political involvement on a multitude of levels; not the least of which, is knowledge for better citizenship.
  4. To grasp the role of the media and interest groups in the American political phenomena.
  5. To properly assimilate the institutions of the American Government in terms of the role each institution plays and how the student can and does participate in that role.
