Cosmetology - Nail Technology (COS)

The Nail Technology program is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills for employment as Nail Technicians in a salon setting, including working in department stores, beauty shops, nursing homes, and health spas, and in owning their own business. Graduates of the Nail Technology program are eligible to take the Alabama State Board of Examination for licensure as a nail technician.
Graduates of the Nail Technology program may become employed as a Nail Technician working in department stores, beauty salons, nursing homes, and health spas. They may opt to own their own business.
In order to be successful in the field of Nail Technology, a graduate should have finger dexterity, sense of form and artistry, enjoy dealing with the public, be able to follow a client’s instructions, have above average business skills and be an effective sales person who can attract new clients.
