Esthetics Technology

Program Description:

The Esthetics Technology program is designed to provide students with basic knowledge and skills for employment as an esthetician in a salon, spa or as a cosmetic consultant. Students will learn how to provide preventative and maintenance care for the skin and may also manufacture, sell, and apply cosmetics. With specialized training, they may choose to work for a dermatologist and provide various treatments for problematic skin under supervision.

Career Opportunities: 

For those who hold esthetician licenses, careers are available in salons, spas and resorts, working with clients and doing facials, waxing and other skin treatments. Estheticians also work in cosmetology marketing, purchasing, beauty consulting or pursue careers in the medical spa areas.

Skills Needed:

In order to be successful in the field of Esthetics, a graduate should have  sense of form and artistry, enjoy dealing with the public, be able to follow a client’s instructions, have above average business skills and be an effective sales person who can attract new clients.
