Dual Enrollment/Dual Credit Students

The dual enrollment/dual credit program is one that offers high school students the opportunity to take college-level courses while receiving high school credit for the same course. Dual enrollment is a great way to make the transition into a successful college experience.  Depending on the school system, students can participate in dual enrollment while in grades 10, 11, or 12. Each school system has different policies regarding dual enrollment.

Two paths are offered for dual enrollment through academic transfer courses and career-technical programs. The academic transfer pathway is generally geared toward the student’s goal of earning a bachelor’s degree while the career-technical route is one that is focused on the attainment of a degree or certificate in a particular technical field.

Early registration begins for Dual enrollment students on Wednesday, July, 10th, Thursday, July 11th, and Monday, July 15th.  These sessions are for students that will be taking ANY class(es) on the Wallace Community College Campus.  Therefore, if you are taking some classes on BOTH the high school campus and the Wallace Campus you MUST COME IN for pre-registration.  If you are attending Dual Enrollment classes on your high school campus ONLY, it is not necessary for you to participate in early registration.  Your schedule will be mailed directly to you with the appropriately scheduled class(es) taught on your high school campus.  NOTEThe FALL semester is the ONLY time that we mail schedules to your home!  At other times, we will only mail a payment reminder postcard and send out a campus cast call to remind students of payment deadlines.  Therefore, you are strongly encouraged to learn how to access your online account to view your schedule and pay tuition/fees PRIOR to spring term deadlines.  Please be aware that the dual enrollment office is unable to assist you with technology-related issues.  It is very important that you set up your myWCC online account.  You may contact our helpdesk at 556-2464 for additional assistance if needed.

To make the registration process as easy as possible for those of you taking a class(es) on the WCC Dothan Campus, we are asking you to attend on one of the following dates:

July 15th--7:30am until 11:30am AND 1:00pm until 4:00pm
