How to Apply for Scholarships
Wallace Community College Dothan has campuses in Dothan and Eufaula and this scholarship application process may be used for students attending all College locations and all scholarship types at the College. Wallace Community College has a limited number of institutional scholarships that are awarded primarily to students who excel academically, exhibit outstanding leadership skills, or possess talent in the area of music or the arts. All the scholarship application processes at WCC is competitive. Successful applicants must submit a complete scholarship application packet before the
applicable deadline. Applicants are urged to complete their application packets one week before the deadline to avoid
last minute processing issues. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
Scholarships available at the College include the following major types:

Institutional Scholarship Application Apply HERE
The Institutional scholarships are tuition and fee waivers that cover 100% of in-state tuition and mandatory fees.
Academic – These scholarships are based on academic achievement. Eligible students must meet all high school graduation requirements and have and maintain a 3.0 grade point average.
Allied Health and Nursing – These scholarships are based on academic achievement for students enrolling in allied health and nursing programs. Eligible students must have and maintain a 3.0 grade point average.
Technical – These scholarships are based on academic achievement in technical and general education courses as well as recommendations from high school teachers and counselors. Eligible students must have and maintain a 2.5 grade point average.
Foundation - A select number of Foundation scholarships are available for students attending the Dothan Campus.
A complete scholarship application package must include the following items:
- WCC Application for Admission, www.wallace.edu/apply
- A completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2019-2020 academic year. WCC’s Federal School Code for the FAFSA is 001018. Please include this school code when completing the FAFSA. - High School transcript, GED documentation (if a GED recipient), and a transcript (if any) from each college previously attended (for transfer/dual enrolled students).
- All other required documents applicable to the scholarship type for which you are applying, such as letters of recommendation and/or references.

The Leadership Development cohort will serve as official student representatives of Wallace Community College, also known as the Diplomats. Application Availability: February 1 - March 5.

Fine Arts Scholarships
Fine Arts Scholarships are awarded to talented students for participation in The Wallace Sound, instrument ensemble, as well as art, drama and visual arts. Eligible students must have and maintain a 2.5 grade point average.

Both the Wallace Community College Foundation and Sparks Campus Foundation post scholarship application packets online each semester during the academic year (fall, spring, & summer). The requirements and awards vary for these scholarships. Please refer to the WCC Foundations’ webpage http://www.wallace.edu/about_wcc/foundations.aspx for specific Foundation scholarship information.
Other Internal/External Scholarship
Wallace Community College also offers a number of privately funded scholarships through external agencies. These scholarships may have specific requirements beyond those established by the College. Consideration is given to students who meet requirements set forth in the respective scholarship guidelines.
