Distance Learning Technical Support and Requirements

Wallace Community College offers classes that can be accessed anywhere, anytime via the Internet. Online courses make significant use of Web technology and applications to support teaching and learning. This may include E-mail, chat rooms, bulletin boards, on-line conferencing, digital libraries, and databases.

Each online course makes use of a required “on-campus” midterm and final. The dates and times for the finals are published in the schedule of classes. Instructors will inform students early enough in the semester of the times and locations of their midterm. Also, many instructors have “on-site” testing for other tests besides the midterm and final.

Online courses apply the same strict standards for instruction and grading as in a traditional on-campus class. Students register for online courses during regular registration, have access to the same student services, receive the same credit, and study under the same regulations as all other students.

Technical Requirements for all online courses
Technical requirements for all online courses offered at Wallace Community College can be found in every Blackboard course by going to “Help Tools” then “Required Software” then finally clicking the “Blackboard Required Software and Plugins” link. This link is also available here, http://video.wallace.edu/bb/getting_started/required_software.htm.

For questions regarding course content, please contact the instructor who is listed in the printed schedule of classes.
