Online Orientation Course

*Effective February 1, 2022 the Adult Education Department will only conduct face-to-face orientation until further notice. 
This orientation course is self-guided and self-paced. Once you have completed the online orientation course, you will be assigned to the appropriate courses with caring and knowledgeable instructors.

 

STOP! Before you enroll in this course you must:

  • Reside in the State of Alabama

  • Reside in Houston, Dale, Henry, Barbour, Geneva or Bullock County

  • Have access to a working computer/ laptop with a webcam, microphone, and internet ​

  • Have a valid Picture I.D.​

  • Have a valid email address​

  • Have basic computer skills​

  • Have the ability to read and follow directions independently

Please follow the step-by-step instructions listed below to self-enroll into our online orientation class.

Step 1:

Click here to access the Canvas account set up page.

Step 2:

Click on the “I’M A STUDENT” button.

Step 3:

Follow the instructions listed below.

1. Setup your account using the Join Code (DPMGYE).

2. Make sure you type your First and Last name in the “Full Name” space.

3. Your “Username” should be an accessible personal email address.

4. Create a password that will be easy to remember.

*Please Note: if you forget your password, we will be unable to retrieve that information for you.

5. Confirm your password

6. Retype the same email you used for your Username.

7. Agree to the terms of use and privacy policy.

8. See “Step 4” for an example of what your information should look like.

Step 4:

Carefully review your information and click “Start Learning”.
