What to Expect at the Ceremony

Each graduate will receive five (5) guest tickets when picking up their cap and gown.

To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all, every guest—regardless of age—must present a ticket for entry.

Arrive on time!

Graduates MUST arrive no later than 45 minutes prior to the ceremony. Graduates must be lined up 30 minutes before the ceremony starts.

Doors open 45 minutes prior to the ceremony start time.

Graduates who purchased a photo package should arrive shortly after the doors are opened to have photos taken.

Bring your photo I.D.

Arrive in full academic regalia. Cap and gowns should not be altered or embellished in any way.

In addition to the black robe, men should wear a white shirt, dark tie, dark dress pants, socks and shoes (preferably dark). No jeans, athletic shoes, or sandals.

Women should wear a dress, a top with a skirt, or dark pants (no jeans). If dress is worn, it should not extend below the hem of the gown. Please wear flats or wedges.

🌟Dual Enrollment graduates may wear their High School regalia in the WCC Commencement ceremony.

All graduates will receive an official commencement name card that is used to display names during the commencement ceremony.

If a graduate does not have the preprinted name card at the graduation ceremony, a write-in card can be provided pending graduation status verification.

Special accommodations (special seating, interpretive services, etc.) for graduating students are available upon request. To make requests, please contact Dr. Ryan Spry at rspry@wallace.edu or call (334) 556-2587.

All requests for special accommodations should be made at least 4 weeks before the commencement ceremony.
