Wallace Community College also offers a number of privately funded scholarships through external agencies. These scholarships may have specific requirements beyond those established by the College. Completing the Dream Scholarship Program

The Sallie Mae Fund’s Completing the Dream Scholarship Program helps students from under-resourced, underrepresented, and underserved communities complete their post-secondary education. Students on track to complete their degree or continuous education program who are facing financial challenges may apply to receive a one-time scholarship of up to $2,500 to help complete their post-secondary education program. Scholarship applications for AY 2024-25 are being accepted now through 12/6/24 or until all scholarship dollars have been awarded.

NISOD Student Essay Contest

  • $1,000 USD
  • Travel to the International Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence, which includes:
    • Up to $400 USD toward travel to Austin, Texas;

    • One (1) complimentary conference registration.

NISOD Graphic Design Contest

  • $1,000 USD
  • Travel to the International Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence (May 24-27 in Austin, Texas), which includes:

    • One (1) complimentary conference registration.

In addition, each winning student’s college will receive a complimentary one-year NISOD membership.
