WorkKeys®

Developed by ACT®, which created America’s most widely accepted college entrance exam, the WorkKeys® system provides employers, schools, students and community organizations with a common language for building a higher-skilled, higher-paid workforce.

For law enforcement, correctional officers, and fire/emergency services personnel, these assessments include Graphic Literacy, Applied Math and Workplace Documents. Each assessment allocates 55 minutes to answer approximately 35-40 multiple-choice questions.

For the Board of Education (BOE), the assessments include Applied Math, Workplace Documents, and Business Writing. The BOE assessments allocate 55 minutes to answer approximately 35-40 multiple-choice questions for Applied Math and Workplace Documents, and 30 minutes for a writing prompt for Business Writing.

An unexpired governmental photo ID must be presented at check-in.

What if I lost my WorkKeys scores?
You can retrieve your lost scores by calling: 1-800- 967-5539. You can also create an account at: www. myWorkKeys®.com. You will need your “Examinee ID” that was given to you when you took your assessments.

If you have a Confirmation Email:

  1. Open your confirmation email.
  2. Scroll to the bottom (after Payment Forms).
  3. Find the tab that starts with “Click Here to View……..Registration”
  4. This will take you to your Events page.

From the Events Page:

  • If you see an event listed:
    1. Click on the event.
    2. Click Cancel.
  • If you do NOT see an event listed:
    1. At the top of the page, click:
      • the dots (Calendar view), or
      • the lines (Listing view)
    1. Select your desired date.
    2. Click Continue at the bottom of the page.
    3. Choose the exam(s) you want to take.
    4. Click Register
      (You should not need to re-enter your information.)

If You Cannot Find Your Confirmation Email:

    1. Go to your email inbox.
    2. In the search bar, type Wallace Community College.
    3. Open the confirmation email and follow the steps above.

The certificate is a portable credential you can take anywhere in the country to show employers your specific employability skills. The certification is recognized by employers nationwide, as it has the national seal on it.

Alabama teaching paraprofessionals have the option of taking WorkKeys® assessments to meet the requirements for being “highly qualified” as set forth by NCLB legislation.
