Technology Frequently Asked Questions

The Alabama Community College System has rolled out a new, customizable dashboard to make it easier to access all your online services in one place!

Alabama.edu Account

Before you can log in you must activate your new account and set its password.  By now, you should have received an email sent to your personal email address from noreply@rapididentity.com with the subject titled, “Activate Your Alabama.edu Account“.

In this email, you will find your claim code and instructions about how to use the code along with your A# to complete the activation process. If you did not receive the email from noreply@rapididentity.com, please click Request Claim Code Email and complete the form.

To activate and use your Alabama.edu account, you must know your A#.  This is your student ID number, (ex. A01234567).  Your account username is your anumber@alabama.edu, (ex. A01234567@alabama.edu).

Accessing myWCC Experience is easy! Click on I AM A link in the right top corner of the website and select Current Student. Log in with your Alabama.edu account and password.

After you have activated your Alabama.edu account, if you need to change the password, click on I AM A link in the right top corner of the website and select Current Student. On the next screen, click on “Forgot Password?”  An email will be sent to your personal email address with a code to allow you to set a new password.

Your new Alabama.edu account is also your college issued email account.  To better protect your account from unauthorized access, you will need to set up multi-factor authentication.

When you access your account on-line for the first time, you will be prompted to set up MFA using the Microsoft Authenticator app, the preferred method, or SMS texts to your phone. Click here for a guide to help you with setting up MFA.

Your Alabama.edu (A01234567@alabama.edu) account will be used for:

Canvas

To log in to Canvas, click on the myWCC Experience link on the website and enter your Anumber@alabama.edu and password. Once in the myWCC Experience Dashboard, click on the Canvas card to access your Canvas courses.

A quick link is also available on the home page of the website under How do I? for easy access.

College Student Email

All enrolled students at Wallace Community College will receive a College-issued email account. When you activate your Alabama.edu account your email address and password will be created and now you can access all student applications. Once assigned, the email address will never be changed.

The ONLY approved method of official email communication from WCC, to the student, will be sent to the student’s alabama.edu account. These official notices may include class schedules, purge of students, and college closings, as well as notices from Admissions and Records, Financial Aid, and faculty. To ensure these notices are received and/or responded to in a timely manner, the student should check their email daily. 

GovNET Information

Your GovNET username is A# student ID number.

Default password- !WCC + birthday in 6 digit format (MMDDYY), i.e. for student born January 21, 1996 , !WCC012196

At the current time, use your GovNET account to login to computers on campus.

Wi-Fi Support

Instructions to Connect to WCC wifi network:

  1. Connect to WCC_Open
  2. The password is Wireless321.
