WCCD Celebrates Associate Degree Nursing Spring 2026 Graduates

Spring 2026 Associate Degree Nursing graduates participate in the pinning and candle lighting graduation ceremony on May 11, 2026.

Wallace Community College-Dothan (WCCD) celebrated the accomplishments of 48 Associate Degree Nursing graduates during its Spring 2026 Pinning and Candle Lighting Ceremony on Monday, May 11, at the Dothan Civic Center. The ceremony honored the dedication, perseverance and academic achievement of graduates as they prepare to enter the healthcare workforce and serve patients across the region.

The ceremony included welcome remarks from College leadership, presentation of candidates, the traditional Nurses’ Pledge, the ADN pinning, and the candle lighting ceremony, symbolizing the transition from student to professional nurse. The program concluded with a benediction and recessional, honoring the graduates’ academic journey and commitment to patient care.

“The pinning and candle lighting ceremony is a special celebration marking our students’ transition from nursing students to graduate nurses,” said Dr. Kathy Murphy, WCCD President, in her welcome address to the graduates. “Their dedication to the noble profession of nursing represents the very best of Wallace. We are proud of their hard work and grateful to the families, friends and faculty whose support made this moment possible. These graduates are stepping into careers of compassion, service and lifelong learning, and we congratulate them on a job well done.”

WCCD’s Associate Degree Nursing program is known for its strong academic foundation and hands-on clinical training, preparing graduates to deliver safe, compassionate and skilled patient care in a variety of healthcare settings.

The College congratulates the Spring 2026 ADN graduates and looks forward to their continued success as they begin their professional nursing careers.
