The Wallace Community College-Dothan (WCCD) Fine Arts Division recently welcomed American Idol Season 4 semi-finalist and acclaimed vocalist Natalie Weiss for a one-day vocal clinic that brought together talented students from across Alabama.

Participants represented a range of schools, colleges, theatres, and studios, including Houston Academy, Enterprise High School, Homewood High School, Dothan High School, Providence Christian School, SEACT, Troy University, Wicksburg High School, and Mary Katherine Parrott Voice Studio.

During the clinic, students learned directly from Weiss as she guided them through vocal techniques, stage performance, and professional preparation. The interactive sessions offered a unique opportunity for emerging vocalists to gain hands-on experience from a nationally recognized artist and educator.

The event was made possible through a $5,000 grant from the Alabama State Council on the Arts (ASCA), whose mission is to enhance the quality of life and economic vitality for all Alabamians by supporting the state’s diverse and rich artistic resources.

Weiss’s appearance at Wallace also included a public concert in the Bencze Theatre on October 8, followed by the student clinic on October 9.
