Wallace Community College-Dothan (WCCD) is proud to announce that its Medical Assistant program has been recognized as one of the Best Medical Assistant Programs in Alabama in EduMed.org’s 2025 national rankings. The honor highlights Wallace’s commitment to high-quality, affordable healthcare education and its dedication to preparing students for meaningful careers in a fast-growing field.
EduMed.org’s annual rankings evaluate schools across the country using a rigorous methodology that prioritizes overall value-balancing affordability, academic quality, student support, flexibility, and long-term career success. Only a select number of programs met the organization’s high standards across all categories.

The Medical Assistant program at WCCD prepares students for both clinical and administrative roles in healthcare settings. Students receive training in patient preparation, vital signs, laboratory procedures, medication administration, and telehealth assistance. The curriculum blends general education with specialized healthcare coursework, including medical law, pharmacology, and office management. Graduates are eligible to pursue certification as Medical Assistants and enter the workforce with strong job placement outcomes.
