Wallace Community College-Dothan (WCCD) has been recognized among the top community colleges in the nation according to Stacker, earning the #24 spot in their national ranking of the 100 best community colleges. WCCD was the only Alabama community college to be included in the top 50 of the list, highlighting the College’s ongoing commitment to student success, workforce development, and educational excellence.
The ranking considered factors such as student-faculty ratios, graduation rates, transfer outcomes, and the affordability of education, all areas where WCCD continues to excel.
“This recognition reflects the hard work, dedication, and heart of our entire Wallace community—our faculty, staff, and students who every day demonstrate that excellence and opportunity thrive here,” said Dr. Kathy L. Murphy, WCCD President. “To be named among the best in the nation is both humbling and inspiring. We are proud to serve our students and our region with the highest standards of quality and care.”
Wallace Community College Foundation Board Chair Jim Dennis praised the achievement, noting that the recognition is a testament to the strength of Alabama’s community colleges. “Wallace Community College’s national ranking is well-deserved and showcases the transformative work being done every day by our faculty and staff,” said Dennis. “Dr. Murphy and her team continue to deliver on the College’s mission—providing education and training that changes lives and builds stronger communities throughout the Wiregrass.”
