Wallace Community College-Dothan (WCCD) is proud to announce that student Nashunni Williams has been named a semifinalist for the highly competitive Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship, one of the nation’s most prestigious awards for community college students seeking to complete a bachelor’s degree at a four-year institution.
Williams is among 485 semifinalists selected from more than 1,300 applicants nationwide, representing 224 community colleges across 37 states. Semifinalists were chosen through a rigorous evaluation process based on academic achievement, leadership, perseverance, and financial need.
The Foundation will announce the 2026 Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship recipients in May.
The Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship provides recipients with last-dollar funding of up to $55,000 per year for two to three years, allowing students to complete their bachelor’s degrees debt-free at any accredited four-year college or university in the United States. In addition to financial support, the scholarship offers personalized advising, access to internships and study abroad opportunities, graduate school funding, and membership in a national network of Cooke Scholars and alumni.
According to the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation, the Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship is designed to remove financial barriers for outstanding community college students and help them successfully transfer to and graduate from the nation’s top four-year institutions.
