Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) are very important members of the health care team. CNAs work in nursing homes, home health agencies, hospitals, hospice organizations, and other companies which provide various levels of health care to individuals.

This 25-day program provides classroom instruction and hands-on skills training to prepare CNAs to take the Alabama Nurse Aide Registry examination. Wallace Community College graduates are employed throughout the area and provide quality care to those who need it most.

The times for the classes are:

Monday-Friday, Wallace Dothan Campus 8:00am- 12:00pm (Classes begin January 6, 2026)

Monday-Friday, Sparks Eufaula Campus 8:00am 12:00pm (Classes begin February 16, 2026)

The fee for the course is $875. This includes books, tuition, and state exam.

**Some clinical facilities we partner with may require proof of vaccination.

Prerequisites include:

  • A background check
  • Two TB tests with results (Both TB skin test results must be dated within the last 90 days)
  • CNA uniforms (Ciel Blue colored uniforms – these can be purchased from local uniform shops such as Scrubs 101 or Zoghby’s Uniforms)
  • State issued photo ID
  • Students must be at least 18 years old
  • A drug screen (will be done on the first day of class)

Paths to Prosperity Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements for Scholarship (Course cost covered up to $4,500.00)

Please review the updated eligibility criteria and program restrictions listed below:

  • Qualifying student must be an Alabama resident.
  • Must enroll in an ACCS-approved short-term credential program (for credit or non-credit) that can be completed in two semesters or less and leads to an in-demand career identified by the Alabama Committee on Credentialing and Career Pathways (ACCCP).
  • Demonstrate financial need.
  • Must complete the Post-Completion Survey, with failure to do so resulting in the student’s forfeiture of scholarship and repayment requirement of any funds paid on the student’s behalf.
  • A student may not receive more than one award until one calendar year after completing the short-term credential program for which the prior funds were awarded.

This course is approved for WIOA funding, senph.org, Sallie Mae Loans and MyCAA.

Wallace Workforce Development Refund Policy:

Written notice of withdrawal must be sent to the course point-of-contact two weeks prior to the course start date to receive a 100% refund.

To receive a 75% refund, written notice of withdrawal must be sent to the course point-of-contact one week prior to the course start date.

If a student attends the first night of training or does not send prior written notice of withdrawal per the guidelines above, no refund will be issued.
