Admission Information

A new class will be admitted fall semester of each year. Completed application packets are to be submitted no later than the published deadline prior to each fall semester.

1. Unconditional admission to Wallace Community College.

2. Receipt of completed application packet for the RPT program by the published due date.

3. All transcripts (college and/or high school) or unofficial GED scores.

• (Although official transcripts are submitted to the Office of Admissions and Records for acceptance to the College, transcripts must also be submitted with your RPT application packet. Copies of transcripts will not be provided by the WCC Office of Admissions and Records for any college other than WCC.) If you are currently enrolled in courses which will be completed prior to the application deadline, submit a transcript copy (unofficial from website following grade posting is acceptable) showing final grade posting with your application.

4. Minimum of 2.0 cumulative GPA for students with previous college work OR high school transcript for students without prior college work (GED® acceptable in lieu of high school transcript).

5. Eligibility to enroll for or previous completion with a “C” or higher of ENG101, MTH100, and BIO201 at the time of program application. Eligibility will be determined by College placement policies. Students enrolled in courses pre- requisite to ENG101, MTH100, and BIO201 at the time of application may be considered for conditional admission pending grade results at the end of summer term.

6. Score on the TEAS® for math, reading, science, and English. Scores must be within three (3) years of the application deadline.

7. Good standing with WCC as defined by the College Catalog.

8. Meeting the essential functions and technical standards required for RPT.

The online Application is available at the Health Science Application Information webpage from this site beginning March 1 each year. Applicants who are new or readmitted WCC students must have completed all requirements for admission to the College prior to submitting an application packet for consideration.

Space in the program may be limited by availability of clinical sites, as well as classroom space and number of faculty. Class size is set annually by the program with input from College officials and the RPT Advisory Committee.

Admission shall be provisional upon the student’s ability to perform essential functions, have negative substance abuse screening results, and receive clinical attendance approval of findings from a required criminal background check. Random substance abuse screening will be conducted throughout program enrollment.

Following admission to the Program, all students must submit a completed physical examination form, including immunization status documentation and verification of the ability to perform essential functions related to this program.

Applications will be processed following the application deadline. All applicants will receive notification of acceptance status via their student email. No information regarding the status of an application will be given over the telephone.

Applicants should allow minimum of (6) weeks after the application deadline for applications to be processed.

Personal transportation will be required between clinical rotations and campus. Students are expected to have reliable personal transportation available.
