CIS 146 Challenge Exam

The CIS 146 Challenge Exam is available for students who are pursuing degrees in programs that require competency in Computer Science.

These programs include but are not limited to:

  • Associate Degree Nursing
  • Emergency Medical Services
  • Physical Therapist Assistant
  • Radiologic Technology
  • Respiratory Therapist
  • Surgical Technology
  • Associate in Science
  • Associate in Arts degree (as per the 2023-2024 College Catalog and Student Handbook).

🌟Students pursuing a program that includes CIS 146 as a part of the curriculum will be required to take the CIS 146 course.

Students interested in taking the CIS 146 Challenge Exam should select the button below to register.
  • It may be used to exempt CIS 146.
  • Passing the exam does not award course credit for CIS 146.
  • The exam does not apply toward the A.A. or A.S. degree and does not transfer to another college or university.
  • Students would be required to take CIS 146 if they are not successful on the CIS 146 Challenge Exam.
  • 🌟Students pursuing a program that includes CIS 146 as a part of the curriculum will be required to take the CIS 146 course.
  • Use a valid email address that is checked often.
  • Register at least 24 hours prior to the exam. A confirmation email will be sent to the email address used for registration.

🌟Remember your Wallace ID#.  It will be required to register and sign-in to take the exam.

  • Arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled test time.
  • Students MUST show valid photo identification in order to test. Acceptable forms of ID are: unexpired Driver’s License or State ID, Passport, Military ID.

Students with a documented disability should contact Disability Support Services at their respective campus at least two weeks prior to the scheduled test date.

  • Go back to your confirmation email (or any if you did not cancel and just scheduled for another day), scroll to the bottom after question 14.
  • The next sentence says or starts with “For additional information…, check out your personal events schedule here (hyperlink in blue).” Click on the word here, it will take you to the events page (events will be listed if you have any scheduled).
  • If you have an event listed, click on the event, then click on cancel.
  • If you do not have an event listed, at the very top of page you should see some dots or lines, click on the dots (Calendar version) or lines (Listing version), then click on the date desired, then click continue at the bottom of page, choose the exam(s) you want to take.
  • Click register (it should register you for the exam without having to refill out the information again).

*If you do not see your Confirmation Email, follow the steps below:

  • Go to your email inbox, If you can’t remember when you registered or you can’t see it, where it says
    search, type Wallace Community College. Your confirmation email should appear
    (if you did not delete it), then follow the steps above.
  • If you did delete the confirmation email, then register for a new date and email the testing center at testing@wallace.edu to notify us to delete the reservation for you.

🌟Please make sure that when you sign up, that you use the email you put on your application whether a New or Returning student. If the email you used, no longer exist or you can’t access, please see Admissions/Records to have your information updated. Using a different email other than the one used on your application, will make another account in our system or cause an error registering for an exam.🌟
