The CIS 146 Challenge Exam is available for students who are pursuing degrees in programs that require competency in Computer Science.

These programs include but are not limited to:

  • Associate Degree Nursing
  • Emergency Medical Services
  • Physical Therapist Assistant
  • Radiologic Technology
  • Respiratory Therapist
  • Surgical Technology
  • Associate in Science
  • Associate in Arts Degree

    (as outlined in the 2023–2024 College Catalog and Student Handbook)

🌟Students pursuing a program that includes CIS 146 as a part of the curriculum will be required to take the CIS 146 course.

Policies

  • It may be used to exempt CIS 146.
  • Passing the exam does not award course credit for CIS 146.
  • The exam does not apply toward the A.A. or A.S. degree and does not transfer to another college or university.
  • Students will be required to take CIS 146 if they are not successful on the CIS 146 Challenge Exam.
  • Students pursuing a program that includes CIS 146 as part of the curriculum will be required to take the CIS 146 course.
  • Use a valid email address that you check regularly.
  • Register at least 24 hours prior to the exam.
    A confirmation email will be sent to the address used during registration.

🌟Remember your Wallace ID#.  It will be required to register and sign-in to take the exam.

  • Arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled test time.
  • Students MUST show valid photo identification in order to test. Acceptable forms of ID are: unexpired Driver’s License or State ID, Passport, Military ID.

Students with a documented disability should contact Disability Support Services at their respective campus at least two weeks prior to the scheduled test date.

  • Go back to your confirmation email. If you did not cancel and only scheduled for another day, locate the statement before the Dothan Campus Map link and
    scroll to that section.
  • Find the sentence that begins with “For additional information…” and references your personal events schedule.
    Click the “here” link to open your events page. Any scheduled events will appear there.
  • If you have an event listed, click on the event and select cancel.
  • If no event is listed, select the calendar or list icon at the top of the page, choose your preferred date, click Continue at the bottom of the page, and select the exam(s) you want to take.
  • Click Register. Your exam should be scheduled without requiring you to re-enter your information.

If you do not see your confirmation email, follow these steps:

  • Go to your email inbox and use the search feature to look for Wallace Community College. Your confirmation email should appear if it has not been deleted.
  • If you deleted the confirmation email, register for a new date and email the Testing Center at testing@wallace.edu
    to request removal of your previous reservation.

Important:
When registering, use the same email address listed on your Wallace Community College application.
Using a different email address may create a duplicate account or prevent successful exam registration.
If you no longer have access to your original email address, please contact Admissions and Records to update your information.
