WorkKeys®

Developed by ACT®, which created America’s most widely accepted college entrance exam, the WorkKeys® system provides employers, schools, students and community organizations with a common language for building a higher-skilled, higher-paid workforce.

For law enforcement, correctional officers, and fire/emergency services personnel, these assessments include Graphic Literacy, Applied Math and Workplace Documents. Each assessment allocates 55 minutes to answer approximately 35-40 multiple-choice questions.

For the Board of Education (BOE), the assessments include Applied Math, Workplace Documents, and Business Writing. The BOE assessments allocate 55 minutes to answer approximately 35-40 multiple-choice questions for Applied Math and Workplace Documents, and 30 minutes for a writing prompt for Business Writing.

Law enforcement applicants can review related testing requirements under Question #17 of the APOSTC FAQ webpage.
