Program participants are provided rigorous academic courses, tutoring services, college-preparatory workshops, career advising/exploration activities, volunteer opportunities, and cultural enrichment. Upward Bound offers services to students through weekday and weekend sessions during the school year and a six-week summer program at Wallace Community College Sparks Campus. Academic classes offered include: Math, Science, English/Literature, Computer Technology, and Spanish. Students are given rigorous assignments for each class and have the opportunity to obtain assistance with current high school assignments. Workshops are used to present various topics. Past workshops have included:  Step Up to S.T.E.M., Financial Aid for College, Welcome to the Real World; Attitude is Everything, ACT Prep for Success, Speed Reading ACT Prep, Lunch and Learn Session, Career Assessment Exploration, and plenty more. Trips are planned for students throughout the year.  Local area trips have included excursions to state parks, museums, and colleges.  Students have also had opportunities to visit Jacksonville, FL; Washington, D.C.; Williamsburg, Virginia; Atlanta, Georgia; Chattanooga, Tennessee; Chicago, Illinois; Little Rock, Arkansas; and New York City.
