High School Counselor Guidance
Students should speak with their high school counselor before applying to determine whether Dual Enrollment aligns with their academic goals and readiness.
Permanent College Transcript
Grades earned in Dual Enrollment courses become part of your student’s permanent college transcript. These grades may impact future college admissions, scholarship opportunities, and financial aid eligibility.
Transportation
Students may be responsible for arranging transportation to and from campus depending on the course location and format.
College-Level Expectations
Dual Enrollment courses require responsibility, independence, and self-motivation. Instructors expect students to manage their time effectively, complete assignments independently, and communicate professionally.

Dual Enrollment Continuous Eligibility
Unsatisfactory Grades or Withdrawal
Students who earn a grade of D, F, or withdraw from a Dual Enrollment course will be suspended from the program for a minimum of one full term.
Summer Term Does Not Count Toward Suspension
The required suspension period cannot be served during the summer term. Students must sit out a fall or spring term.
Re-Enrollment Requirement
Students may not re-enroll in Dual Enrollment until the full suspension period has been completed.
Reapplication and GPA Requirement
To return to the program, students must reapply and have a minimum unweighted GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
FERPA and Student Privacy
What is FERPA?
- FERPA is a federal law that protects the privacy of student education records.
- It gives students rights related to their academic information.
- Wallace Community College is required to follow FERPA.
Student Rights Under FERPA
- The right to review their education records.
- The right to request corrections.
- The right to control who can access their information.
- The right to file a complaint.
Parent Access and Rights
- FERPA rights transfer to the student when they enroll in college.
- This includes Dual Enrollment students.
- Parents need student permission to access records.
