In order to be eligible for enrollment into our program you must:

  • Reside or work in the State of Alabama

  • Reside in Houston, Dale, Henry, Barbour, Geneva or Bullock County

  • Have a valid Picture I.D.​

How Do I Get Started?

To enroll in our GED program, you must first attend orientation. We offer in-person orientation. In-person orientation sessions consist of enrollment paperwork, account setup, testing, and class placement and may take up to two days and approximately three hours each day to complete.

*If you choose to attend face-to-face orientation, please be at least 10 minutes early and bring pen, pencil, and paper. Latecomers will not be admitted.

If you are 16 or 17 years of age you must turn in specific paperwork before enrolling and attending adult education classes.

What should I bring with me to orientation?
-Please bring a photo I.D. and pen.

How long is orientation?
– Students should expect to attend a two-day orientation. Each session usually takes 3 hours.

What should I expect during orientation?
– Orientation consists of the following:

  • Filling out required paperwork
  • Completing a goals/ learning styles survey
  • Program overview
  • Setting up your online student accounts
  • Taking a Locator test
  • Taking a TABE placement test
  • Class assignment(s)
